Overview

Dingle Distillery is an independent distillery nestled on the edge of the Wild Atlantic Way, committed to crafting spirits that reflect the character and community that make Dingle special.

Producing award-winning Dingle Whiskey, Dingle Original Gin, and Dingle Vodka since 2012, it was one of the first craft whiskey distilleries of the modern Irish revival and has built a strong reputation for small-batch, genuinely local production.

Dingle Whiskey continually matures in the mild, moist climate of Ireland's south-west coast, and the proximity of the Atlantic is considered a genuine influence on the character of the spirit.

What You'll See

Two tour options are available. The standard Dingle Distillery Tour is a 75-minute fully guided experience covering the history and origins of the distillery and walking through the gin, vodka, and whiskey making processes - from mashing and fermentation through to distilling and maturation.

The Distillers' Selection Tour is also 75 minutes, but focused exclusively on whiskey, with a fully tutored tasting of five contrasting expressions. Both tours take place entirely indoors. An on-site shop stocks branded merchandise and limited-edition items available only at the visitor centre, though alcohol is not sold on site - staff will direct you to where it can be purchased nearby.

Visitor Essentials

Tours are roughly 75 minutes with free parking is available on site. Valid ID is required at check-in. Opening times vary throughout the year - check the official site before visiting.

Tips

Advance booking is strongly recommended and tours often sell out, especially in peak season. The distillery is located at Milltown, a short distance from Dingle town centre.

Note that production may not be in operation on certain days or afternoons, depending on the production schedule - this is worth keeping in mind if seeing the working distillery in action is important to you, though the tour runs regardless.

Dingle Whiskey is notably difficult to find in shops, so visitors serious about taking a bottle home should visit local stockists pointed out by the tour guides, as the distillery itself cannot sell alcohol on site.
