The Burren, located in County Clare, is one of Ireland’s most unique and fascinating landscapes, famous for its otherworldly limestone terrain and rare flora. Stretching across more than 150 square kilometers, this region is dotted with ancient monuments, caves, and stone walls, creating a rugged beauty that’s unlike anywhere else in the country.

Visitors can explore attractions such as the Poulnabrone Dolmen, Aillwee Cave, and the Burren National Park, where walking trails lead through rocky hills and wildflower meadows. The area’s geological, archaeological, and ecological diversity make it a favorite for nature enthusiasts, hikers and photographers.

This area pairs nicely with a visit to the nearby Cliffs of Moher. You can learn more about visiting The Burren here.
