The Peace Bridge in Derry (Londonderry) is one of Northern Ireland’s most iconic modern landmarks, symbolizing unity and reconciliation in a city once divided by conflict. Opened in 2011, the elegant, curving pedestrian and cycle bridge stretches across the River Foyle, connecting the historic city center with the Waterside area.

Its design reflects two hands reaching out to meet, representing the coming together of communities. The bridge also offers beautiful views of the river, the Guildhall, and Derry’s skyline, especially at sunset when it’s illuminated.

This is a perfect stop for walkers, photographers, and anyone interested in Irish history or contemporary architecture. The bridge is free to cross and open at all times, making it an easy and meaningful addition to any visit to Derry.
