Overview

Fenton's Restaurant is a long-established family-run business managed by Patricia Fenton on Green Street in the heart of Dingle. The Fenton family have been involved in all aspects of fishing and farming from production to the plate for generations, and the restaurant is situated on the original site of her great-grandfather's mackerel yard.

Patricia's family has been in the fishing industry here for over a century, and simple wooden furniture and cheerful artwork on the walls set the tone for relaxing meals where local foods take centre stage.

This is a restaurant with genuine roots in the land and sea it serves - not a marketing concept, but a family story playing out through every dish.

What You'll See

Set in a striking blue-and-yellow building on Green Street, Fenton's sits on the site of the family's old mackerel yard. On the menu expect Dingle Dexter beef and Black Angus from nearby farms, seafood landed around the peninsula, and vegetables sourced locally or grown in the family's walled garden.

Depending on the time of year there may be lamb from the family farm, and sometimes unusual ingredients such as periwinkles foraged in a little cove west of Dingle near their clifftop farm. There is a pretty patio garden for fine weather and a cosy fire for chilly days.

Visitor Essentials

Fenton's is open Tuesday to Saturday, dinner from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. The restaurant does not serve lunch or operate on Sundays or Mondays - plan accordingly.

Lunch service has run on occasion Tuesday through Friday from 12pm to 2pm - confirm current lunch availability directly with the restaurant. Booking in advance is recommended, particularly in peak season.

Tips

Fenton's is a short walk from most Dingle accommodation and sits on the same street as Murphy's Ice Cream - a natural dessert stop if you want to continue your evening outside in the town.

Although this is mainly a seafood destination, Fenton's takes equal pride in its land produce, so those less inclined toward fish will find genuinely satisfying options in the Dexter beef and seasonal lamb.
