We had a local guide take us through the small villages tucked along the gorge, which gave us a glimpse into everyday life that we never would've found on our own. The walk eventually led us down to the river and up to an abandoned building overlooking the gorge. Standing there, I was shocked by just how massive the rock formations actually are; you really don't appreciate their scale until you're at the bottom looking up. It was one of the most peaceful and underrated stops of our entire Morocco trip.
