I wasn't really sure what to expect from Northwest Trek, but it ended up being such a chill place to spend a few hours. It wasn't very busy when we visited, which made it even more enjoyable. The coolest part is hopping on the tram and riding through a huge open area where bison, elk, deer, and other wildlife roam freely around you. Afterward, we walked through the zoo portion and were surprised by how active all of the animals were. The bear habitat was especially impressive; they have so much room to roam that it feels much more natural than a typical zoo enclosure. If you're looking for a laid-back activity that's a little different from hiking, I'd definitely recommend stopping by.
