Walking into Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu feels exactly like stepping onto the set of Kill Bill - because you literally are. The two-story wooden interior with its lanterns and balconies is instantly recognizable from that famous fight scene. Even if you're not a Tarantino fan, the place has this incredible atmospheric quality that makes you feel like you're in a movie set that happens to serve really good food.

Beyond the Kill Bill connection (which they're understandably proud of), it's actually a solid restaurant. The soba noodles and grilled skewers aren't just riding on the film fame. The fact that it hosted a summit between President Bush and Prime Minister Koizumi tells you something about its legitimacy.

Staying open until 3 AM makes it perfect for that late-night Tokyo dining experience. Just don't try to recreate any sword fights while you're there. Reservations made conveniently online.
