Nozawa Onsen, where there are really just two essential things to do - ski and visit the onsens (kids can go in the onsens, it's just based on gender) - is a charming hot spring and ski town in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Known for its traditional public baths dating back to the Edo Period, the town comes alive in winter with visitors flocking to its excellent ski resort. With English menus and signs available, it's a great place to enjoy skiing and soak in the relaxing hot springs, and it offered the best accommodations we stayed at in what proves to be a fun, quaint village.
