Hallgrímskirkja is a magnificent church that watches over the city. Its design is a nod to the basalt columns you'll find in Icelandic nature, and it's a true landmark. While entry to the church is free, there's a small fee to access the tower. While we didn't enter the church or climb up to the tower, simply standing outside and taking in it's beauty was enough to feel it's magnificence and you can also see it throughout your walk around downtown.
