Near the village of Nismes, just 25 minutes away from Chimay Abbey, is the impressive natural chasm of Fondry des chiens. This chasm was created by the chemical erosion of limestone caused by wind and water.

Also known as the 'Belgian Grand Canyon', Fondry des Chiens stretches over a depth of 20 metres and has a length of 100 metres. The area is classified as a nature reserve and is home to a diverse biodiversity.
