Have you heard about the famous melon bread (melon pan) shop in Asakusa, Kagetsudo? They sell the freshest, most delicious melon pan in town, and they are also known for their cute seasonal windmills, which make the perfect background for Insta-worthy photos.
It’s especially popular among young Japanese girls wearing kimonos, and when in Rome, do as the Romans do.
It can get quite crowded on weekends, so I recommend visiting on a weekday if you want to enjoy the shop and take photos more peacefully. Only Kagetsudo Main Store 花月堂本店 has this cute windmill display, and they change the colors with the seasons – pink for cherry blossoms, blue in summer, and white and red for the Japanese New Year.
My personal recommendation: you must try the melon pan filled with matcha ice cream! It’s such a good combination, especially on a warm day.
