Poço dos Chefes is a hidden gem located in the Valley of the Nuns (Curral das Freiras) in Madeira. It’s a natural reservoir that has become a popular spot for locals to cool off during the summer. The pool was created by locals who built a dam around the sides of a river, making it deep enough for swimming and diving.

The area is known for its stunning scenery, amazing views, and provides a peaceful atmosphere for a relaxing afternoon in nature. It’s accessible by public buses from Funchal, and it’s recommended to bring food and drinks as the nearest shops and restaurants are in the village center
