this lake is a wonderful one,but rather time intesive to get to.
You have basically two options. The public minivan (18chf) and hiking or only hiking (free).
The minivan Option: Park the car in the village Sfazu. They have limited capacity, so come early. From there you take the van up to the Val da Camp. The van only operates June to October and to buy the ticket is mandatory. The busses going up are very small and fit only around 12 peple. In high season, these spots are filling out fast, so spontaneous bookings or hop-ons are almost impossible. You can make the reservation via this phone number: 0041 81 844 10 42. The first van goes at 9.10am and it takes 20min up the mountain. The vans also go only once every hour up, the last one at 5.10pm. The way down its the same: first one at 9.30am and the last one at 5.30pm, once every hour. As soon as you arrive on top you only have a 15 minutes hike to the lake. The bus costs 12chf one way, or 18chf return. Swiss Travel Pass or anything similar are not valid here.
The hiking option: You start the hike in Sfazu and go up the mountain until the lake for around 1.45 hrs. The difference in altitude is almost 800m, so its no joke. Down its the same, maybe slightly faster. In total it would take around 4 hrs, 15km. But at least its better for the spontaneous people and if you dont like a time limitation.
