Located on Maui’s famous Road to Hana, the Garden of Eden Botanical Garden feels like stepping into another world. Nestled in the lush jungles of east Maui, this 26-acre garden is a kaleidoscope of tropical plants, winding paths, epic views and stunning waterfalls. It’s probably best known for its views of Keopuka Rock, seen during the helicopter flight into the valley in the opening scene of Jurassic Park.
The gardens also have a great view of the winding Road to Hana and Puohokamoa Falls below (a vantage point you can’t really get anywhere else).
Admission is $20 per adult and $10 per child and you can easily spend an hour or two here.
Since this is about halfway to Hana and most people coming here are doing the Road to Hana as a day trip…is it a must do? Not for everybody. If you’re a hiker and have a long list of all of the stops you hope to make throughout the day, it’s going to be hard to squeeze this in.
But if you have more limited mobility or you’re traveling with smaller kids or older folks and won’t be doing much hiking and scrambling around, this is a great stop.
