This family run roadside attraction is home to several waterfalls, but the most famous is Twin Falls.

Yes, this feels like a bit of a tourist trap the way it’s set up (and they’ll charge you $10 to park), but this is BY FAR the best and most accessible “swim under” waterfall in Hawaii.

Most waterfalls in Hawaii with pools that you can swim in flow down rocks and then break into the pool, but this one has a grotto behind it so it feels very “magical.”

That being said, you should always be cautious about swimming underneath waterfalls because there’s always a chance of falling rocks (even a small pebble can hurt when it’s falling from a decent height).

You should definitely plan to get here early. They open the gates at 7AM and by 9AM it’s usually crawling with people and a lot less magical.

Also, if there’s been a lot of rain recently, they sometimes close access to the upper falls off. Ask at the gate before you go in, because I wouldn’t stop and pay if you’re only going to get to see the tiny falls at the front. There’s a lot better stuff further down the Road to Hana.

And even if you’re not going to get in and swim, you will have to wade through water to get back to the viewing point for the falls.
