The Fimmvörðuháls Hike is one of the most exhilarating day hikes in Iceland. Beginning at the base of Skógafoss waterfall, hikers trek along the Skógá River to behold 25 more spectacular waterfalls of varying heights and colors. As you ascend into the barren landscapes of the Eyjafjallajökull & Mýrdalsjökull glaciers, the ever-changing scenery allows for endless exploration and incredible natural wonders. The trail finishes at Básar, Thórsmörk, an enchanted forest enshrined in dazzling greenery and moss-covered rocks. It's a difficult journey, but with magnificent rewards that can only come from this unique Icelandic landscape.
