Como is a beautiful and vibrant city in northern Italy, located on the shore of Lake Como. With its fantastic Alpine views, stunning churches, lush gardens, museums, theatres and parks, it's no wonder that Como is such a popular tourist destination. Visitors to Como will find plenty to keep them busy, with attractions like the Duomo, the Villa Olmo, the 20th-century Casa del Fascio, and the City Hall. Como has been home to many great historical figures like Caecilius from Catullus, Pliny the Elder, Alessandro Volta, and Cosima Liszt and is known for its distinctive cuisine and cultural activities. The hills surrounding Como are perfect for activities like hiking and cycling, and the warm summers offer an ideal Mediterranean climate for sunbathing and swimming. Como is a must-see for anyone looking for an unforgettable Italian experience.

MUST VISIT PLACES IN COMO:

Piazza Cavour: beautiful and modern, it stands right where the ancient medieval port once stood. The port was transformed into a square in the 19th century, in order to elegantly welcome all the visitors who came to these places.

The Broletto and the Cathedral: symbols of the political and religious center of the medieval city. The two buildings, the municipal one and the immense religious building, were built at different times and the second even incorporated part of the first, giving birth to a building of great shape and architectural beauty. A true treasure of immense value.

Church of San Fedele: the oldest in the city, which still shows off its medieval charm, preserving its structure as best as possible. There are many medieval buildings that overlook the square of the same name, once a market and commercial hub of Como. This is the ancient heart of the city, which has never stopped beating.

Museums: among the many places of culture, where many jewels of the past are jealously guarded, we can remember (leaving aside the aforementioned Voltiano Museum) the Paolo Giovio Archaeological Museum, the Giuseppe Garibaldi Historical Museum and the Civic Art Gallery.
