While in Naples, I advise you not to miss the tour of underground Naples. In reality there is not a single entrance to the underground, but more than 35. The most historic and perhaps most famous one is the one in Piazza San Gaetano, with the famous entrance with the inscription. Be sure to check the meeting point indicated when booking. I suggest you book one of the first available tours in the morning. The visit costs about €12 and lasts about an hour. I must admit that the visit to underground Naples was very pleasant: the guide explained the history of the underground, accompanied us in narrow passages and made us live the experience of the pozzari, who had only a candle available to move around in the dark underground. Very impressive indeed! Perhaps not exactly suitable for those suffering from claustrophobia, but the passages in the narrowest alleys were strictly optional. I recommend you bring a sweater with you, because the humidity is really high.
