Procida is an enchanting island located off the coast of Naples, Italy in the Flegrean Islands archipelago. With its tiny satellite island of Vivara, it is a comune of the Metropolitan City of Naples, in the region of Campania. Its rugged coastline, volcanic peaks and quaint fishing villages have provided inspiration for many writers, including Alphonse de Lamartine and Elsa Morante. Its stunning landscapes have been featured in such movies as Cleopatra and The Talented Mr. Ripley. It is also famous for its rich cultural heritage, stunning bayside views, and the annual Procession of the Apostles of Holy Thursday and the Procession of the Mysteries of Good Friday, events that attract tourists from all over the world. In 2020 it was chosen to be the Italian Capital of Culture 2022 and its residents are proud to have it represented and celebrated!
