Queenstown Gardens is a tranquil, 14.75 hectare botanical park nestled on a peninsula along Lake Wakatipu, just a short stroll from downtown Queenstown . Established in 1867, the gardens showcase a rich collection of native and exotic trees, including towering Douglas firs, and feature a vibrant rose garden with over 800 varieties .
Visitors can enjoy a leisurely 2 km loop trail that meanders through the gardens, offering picturesque views of the lake and surrounding mountains . The gardens are also home to the Queenstown Ice Arena, providing opportunities for ice skating and ice hockey . Other amenities include a children's playground, tennis courts, lawn bowls, and a disc golf course.
Open year round and free to the public, Queenstown Gardens is a beloved spot for both locals and visitors seeking relaxation and natural beauty in the heart of the city .
