Te Papa Tongarewa, New Zealand’s national museum in Wellington, is a must visit for anyone wanting to dive into the country’s history, culture, and natural wonders. The museum is beautifully designed, family friendly, and free to explore, making it the perfect stop to learn, be inspired, and experience the heart of Aotearoa!

Quick Tips

  • 🕒 Free entry (some exhibitions may charge)

  • 📍 Location: 55 Cable Street, right on the Wellington waterfront

  • ⏳ Allow at least 2–3 hours to explore

  • 🎒 Bags must be checked at the cloakroom

  • ☕ There’s a café onsite and plenty of picnic space nearby

  • 📸 Photography allowed in most areas
