Hidden gem for adventurous jumps

A fun little secret tucked just off the road to Glenorchy, the “Little Thailand” rock jump is one of those spots you’d never notice unless someone told you about it. We haven’t done the jump ourselves yet, but we walked right down to the bottom to check it out, and it’s such a cool little spot.

Just a heads up: it’s not a place you’d hang out for long. The landing area at the bottom is pretty squishy and uneven, so most people head down, do a couple of jumps, take a few photos, and head back up. The walk down is steep and rocky, and you’ll need to hold onto the rope that’s been set up as a handline, so it’s definitely not suitable for everyone.

A couple of extra things worth knowing:

  • There’s no proper path, just a worn foot track.

  • The water level can change depending on rain and the lake level, so always check before jumping.

  • Parking is limited, it’s literally just a roadside pull-off, so go early or off-peak.
