Tucked away just 20 minutes from Queenstown, Moke Lake Campsite is a hidden gem surrounded by mountains and mirrored lake views. This peaceful DOC site is popular with walkers, bikers, and kayakers, offering a serene escape from the buzz of town while still being close by. With basic facilities and unbeatable scenery, it’s a favourite for campers wanting a true back to nature stay in the Southern Lakes region.

🌿 Quick Tips

  • Facilities: Toilets and non powered sites. Bring your own water.

  • Booking: Required year round through the DOC website or with cash when you arrive - $15 per adult per night & $7.50 per child per night & free for under 5.

  • Access: Gravel road (can be narrow in places, so drive carefully).

  • Activities: Try the Moke Lake Loop Track, kayaking, stargazing, or simply relaxing lakeside.

  • Tip: Nights get cold, even in summer, pack extra warm layers, there also isn't any signal here!
