Huka Falls is one of New Zealand’s most visited natural attractions, located just a five minute drive north of Taupō on the North Island. Here, the Waikato River narrows dramatically from approximately 100 metres wide to a canyon only 15 metres across, causing a powerful surge of water that plunges 11 metres into a foaming pool below. An astonishing 220,000 litres of water per second flow over the falls, creating a mesmerising and thunderous spectacle.
