Message from Sam Hodenius

Mount Wakakusa is a 342-meter-high hill located in Nara, Japan with a panoramic view over Nara City. It's the best sunset spot in Nara! You can either hike from one of the base trails, but be aware that the ascend takes 2hours on average. You can also go up by car in 15mins from Nara Station, there is a parking lot on top. We did take a taxi but be aware that no taxi will be waiting on the mountain to take you back down so you either have to call one via phone or hike down.
