Iwaso has been one of the best ryokan I have stayed in so far! The rooms are beautiful, the food is absolute perfection and I loved the communal onsen space. In autumn, you can see vibrant autumn foliage from your room.

This ryokan offers a vegan kaiseki (specifiy when you book!) and it was one of the best food I ever had. A 6-course kaiseki as well as breakfast is included in the room rate. Please note that tattoos are generally not allowed in the onsen area, but I asked at reception and they said it was fine if I went in after 11pm. Definitely inquire before if this is a concern for you as well.
