Skogafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls on the island. It is 25 metres wide and 60 metres high. Game of Thrones fans will recognize this place for sure. On the right side of Skogafoss, there’s a stairway going up to a viewing platform. From here a hiking trail starts that leads through the Fimmvörðuháls mountain pass. Just like seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss is located right next to the R1. Together with the fact that it is one of the biggest waterfalls, it means that it can get quite busy at times
