Antwerp Central Station, also known as the Central Station or Railway Cathedral by the Antwerp residents, was inaugurated in 1905. The building consists of a steel platform roof and an eclectic-style stone station building. In 2007 a tunnel opened under the station, which means that Antwerp Central is no longer a terminal station. The Central Station has been voted several times as one of the most beautiful stations in the world.
