If you only do one thing in Auckland, make it Mount Eden. It is an easy walk to the top and the view over the city is amazing. From the crater you can see the Sky Tower, the harbour and many of Auckland’s volcanic hills. The site is rich in history and cultural significance, being a former Māori pā (fortified village).

It is a short and simple walk, around 10 to 15 minutes from the car park. Try to go for sunrise or sunset for the best light.
