If you want killer views in the Dolomites without an exhausting hike, Col Raiser is the place. Nestled in the heart of the Val Gardena region, this alpine spot is basically a front-row seat to some of the most jaw-dropping scenery in the Italian Alps and the best part? You don’t even have to hike miles to get there.
🏔️Col Raiser is a scenic mountain station that’s all about easy access to epic views. You hop on the Col Raiser cable car from the little village of Santa Cristina, and in just a few minutes, you’re whisked up to around 2,100 metres. From there, it’s pure Dolomites magic: sweeping green meadows, jagged peaks, and endless trails.
🌼The vibe
Views for days: You’ll get panoramic sights of the Odle Group, which includes those iconic spiky mountain peaks you see all over Instagram.
Laid-back hiking: There are super manageable trails from the top station that even casual walkers will love. No need to be a hardcore hiker to enjoy it.
Alpine huts with strudel: Yes, you can hike for 30 minutes and reward yourself with homemade apple strudel or a creamy cappuccino at one of the many mountain huts (try Rifugio Firenze, thank me later) 30 minute trail from top station.
Family & dog friendly: Great for all ages, and yep, your pup can ride the cable car too!
Best time is in Summer & Autumn
Whether you're soaking up wildflowers in summer or chasing golden larches in the fall, Col Raiser delivers that peaceful, “this should be a postcard” kind of vibe.
🌄 It's also a fab spot for sunrise photos if you're an early riser with a camera in hand.
