When it comes to cozy getaways, Iceland’s cabins are hard to beat, and if you’re anything like me, you don’t just want a great stay, you want a place that's as photogenic as it is comfortable. After years of exploring Iceland's hidden corners and staying in cabins across the country, I’ve put together my personal shortlist of the most Instagrammable cabins, places that not only deliver stunning views and unique design, but also that magical feeling you only get in the middle of Icelandic nature.
Each cabin on this list is one I've stayed at myself, so you’re getting honest, firsthand recommendations you can trust. Let’s dive in!

Panorama Glass Lodge

Panorama Glass Lodge is hands down the most impressive accommodation in Iceland. Laying in the bed and watching northern lights in the winter is just magical. You also get your own private hot tub outside the cabin. Bring food as there's no restaurants near by but you have a good kitchen to cook in.

Iceland Lakeview Retreat

One of the best cabins of Iceland. You're all alone out in nature with a fantastic view over the lake. The hot tub is perfect and the cabin very nice and stylish. The indoor fireplace is spot on and you're right on the doorstep of the golden circle when you wake up.

Heathland Lodge

Heathland Lodge is an epic mirror cabin in the golden cirlce area. They are located in an open field which makes them perfect to watch northern lights. There's very little light pollution around which is important for the northern lights. It's also so cool when the northern lights are reflecting in the mirrors at night.
The cabin itself is also incredible. There's a private hot tub, sauna and small kitchen. I highly recommend to stay here if you are visiting Iceland!

Bubble hotel

Bubble hotel is a fun experience but not the most comfortable. If you get northern lights while staying here you're up for an amazing experience. There's however no sun shade so they can get very hot in the morning if the sun is up. There's also no toilets by the bubbles so you'll need to walk a few hundred meters to get to them.

Mjóeyri

If you're traveling to the East fjords this is where I recommend to stay. It's a beautiful place and they have a great hot spring. It's also a very good northern lights location in winter. Their hot tub is amazing and often there is an Arctic Fox living close to the huts so keep your eyes out for that one!

Silica Hotel

The main hotel of the blue lagoon. With this one you get entry to the main lagoon but also a private one only for hotel guests. The Silica Hotel has it's own blue lagoon you can swim in which is a lot less crowded then the main lagoon. If you in the middle of the day when most guests have checked out, you are often all alone in the lagoon.

Highlands Base Hotel

Highlands Base is a brand new hotel close to Kerlingarfjöll. It's the perfect basecamp when exploring the highlands and have may different room options. The most beautiful ones are the private cabins next to the hotel. The view from here is incredible and I have often seen Aurora directly outside the window.
