Set on a gentle hill above the Žiri countryside, this lesser-known Sv. Tomaž church is a fantastic spot for moody, layered compositions. It works especially well at sunrise, when fog often settles in the valleys and the church stands out against soft, rolling terrain rather than dramatic alpine peaks. A telephoto lens (100–300mm) is ideal for isolating the church and compressing the hills, while wider focal lengths can include surrounding fields and sky for a more pastoral feel. Easy access by car makes this a reliable stop in autumn and winter, when mist, frost, and low light create calm, atmospheric scenes.
