When you go to Šunikov vodni gaj expect a small, peaceful waterside grove with shaded walking paths, shallow ponds and a few wooden boardwalks that make for a pleasant 30 to 60 minute stop. Wear comfortable shoes because surfaces can be gravelly or uneven, bring insect repellent in summer and expect only basic or no facilities and limited parking, so plan accordingly. It’s a great quick nature photoshoot full of interesting compositions to be found, especially during spring and autumn in the morning or late afternoon when the light is nicest and it’s quieter. There’s no entrance fee so just enjoy and leave the area as you found it.
