The Wood Carving Trail in Axalp, Switzerland is an underrated but easy hiking option, and a really unique activity to add on if you are visiting Brienz. I love how this trail offers a unique blend of art and nature. Established after a storm in 1999, it features intricate wood carvings by local artists from fallen trees, turning the trail into an open-air gallery. Along the trail, you will see over 100 carvings of animals, fairy tale characters, and more, set against the stunning backdrop of the Swiss Alps!
