Syväsenvaara is a forested hill just south of Rovaniemi, perfect for a short hike or peaceful walk. At the top stands the Näköalatorni, a small lookout tower offering panoramic views over the city, the Kemijoki River, and surrounding forests.

The area is beautiful year-round: in autumn, the forest glows with autumn colors and in winter, the snow covered landscape makes it feel like a true arctic paradise. The hill is also historically significant as local legend says it was once a sacred place for the Sámi people.

Park next to Santa park or arctic tree house hotel and walk towards Santa park and there should be a path leading to the hill. Walk all the way until you come to the tower. Be careful in the winter as it can be slippery and a lot of snow. bring good shoes and a headlamp.
