Uspenski Cathedral is a spot I always point out to visitors because it often surprises them! This red-brick Orthodox cathedral sits on a hill just a short walk from Senate Square, and its golden cupolas and Eastern-style architecture really stand out in the city skyline. There's really nice views from the small grass hill in front of the cathedral and it's a cool spot for a picnic in the summer.

Inside, it feels like stepping into another world with its ornate icons and colorful domes. It’s free to visit (you can leave a small donation), and from the steps outside, you also get a fantastic view over the harbor and the city rooftops. I recommend visiting in the late afternoon when the soft light makes the red bricks glow beautifully.
