The Robert Service Cabin is an important and fascinating historic site that captures the collective imagination and spirit of the Klondike Gold Rush. The rustic two-room log cabin is Classified as a Federal Heritage Building, and is located on the lower slopes of Dawson City in the Dawson Historic Complex National Historic Site of Canada. This building was constructed in 1898-99, and is where the famous poet Robert Service lived while he wrote his works about the icy Klondike during the gold rush period. It is also a symbol of the region that is known across Canada. Visitors to the site can explore this unique cabin and gain insight into the life of one of Canada’s most beloved writers.
