Urke is a village located in the middle of Sunnmørsalpene. If you drive here from Hellesylt through Øye, you can find a lake called Lyngstøyvatnet. The lake was formed when a landslide closed off the Norang river and flooded a farm and a small forest. If you go snorkeling here you can still see the roads, ruins and even several trees still standing under the water.

From Urke you can also hike up to Saksa. Saksa is a somewhat longer hike with a rise of 950 meters and is 3.5 km one way. If you don’t want to commit to the whole trip, there is a shorter alternative called Bentebu. It starts at the same place as the hike to Saksa, and at 365 meters you still get some of the view.
