Charming Como: Italy's Gem
Experience the authentic charm of a non-touristy Lake Como. This 5-day itinerary guides you through serene waterfalls, quaint villages, and breathtaking hikes, offering a peaceful alternative to the usual tourist spots.
This is the Itinerary I made for my travels to Lake Como, it's good for five days and easy manageable and changeable if you want to adjust it for your exploration, it's mostly nature gems, towns and places where there are no tourist crowds especcially in the shoulder season - spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October)!
Be ready for mountain climate with sudden weather changes with sun, clouds, fog and rain!
All the parking spots, for the locations, we tested you will find on this guide's map, there are paid and free parking spots, but mostly paid, because it's Italy!
Best Time to go!
When is the peak season and when shoulder season?
Where to stay?
The best area to stay is somewhere not too far from attractions, but also in a place with a great view.
⏰ Mind the "Riposo" (Midday Closing)
Pro-tip: Make sure to buy your hiking snacks and water in the morning before you head out!
🍽️ Eat Like a Local (Must-Try Food)
For the most authentic food, skip the lakeside tourist cafes and search for an Agriturismo (farm-stay restaurant) in the hills.
