Being an Aussie, I’m used to a bit more of an adventure to get to waterfalls, it's usually a real mission to find the good stuff! But on the North Island of New Zealand, waterfalls are everywhere, and so many are super simple to get to. Owharoa Falls is the perfect example of this. Just off the highway, you can pull over and walk a quick 20 meters to reach these beautiful falls. The falls have this awesome staircase-style cascade which is stunning making it a popular spot for photos or a relaxed picnic.
One thing to note is that there’s no official car park, just a shoulder on the side of the road, so parking can be a bit limited. Just drive slowly, scope it out, and you should find a spot, especially since most people don’t spend too much time here. Things clear up pretty quickly.
