Talk about a random stop. Stuart and the Pigs is literally just a pull-off on a gravel road where you can see some pigs and chickens doing their thing. Located along the 309 Road on the Coromandel Peninsula, it’s worth stopping in to say hi to the oink oinks. Even if you don’t feel like getting out, you’ll likely spot them as you drive past.
Now, a heads-up, the road in is gravel, like many in New Zealand, and can be windy and narrow in places, so take your time. When you reach the pigs, keep your distance, as they can bite, and definitely don’t feed them. I read online that you can pat them, but personally, I wouldn’t recommend it. Just admire them from afar and enjoy the little moment of farmyard charm. On my visit, there were heaps of baby piglets running around, which was pretty adorable.
