THE FUJIYA GOHONJIN is one of my favorite restaurants in Nagano. It’s inside a beautifully renovated historic building, with a calm, stylish atmosphere that feels both special and relaxed.
The food is amazing, and the service is some of the best I’ve experienced in Japan—friendly, thoughtful, and perfectly balanced. Their course menu rotates each season, so check their official website to see what’s currently being served. I also highly recommend making a reservation through their website—it’s all available in English and easy to use.
Note: If your reservation is closer to the end of their lunch or dinner hours, some options from the course menu may become unavailable due to limited quantities—so it’s worth booking an earlier slot if possible.
There’s also a separate café space inside the building where you can stop by for drinks and absolutely delicious desserts, even if you’re not dining in the main restaurant.
If you’re looking for a place to slow down and enjoy a memorable meal, this is one I always suggest.
