La Via delle Orecchiette or Strada delle Orecchiette (Street of the Orecchiette) is a unique place in Bari Vecchia where you can witness local women making the famous Orecchiette pasta right before your eyes, a taste of Apulian tradition.

It has become quite a tourist attraction, so it doesn't necessarily feel like an authentic experience, and sometimes the ladies just wait there to sell things instead of actually show how they make the pasta, so you might feel like it's just a tourist attraction.

That said, I did love seeing the pasta being made and dried in the sun. AND if you do want to buy something here, like a bag of orecchiette to take home as a delicious souvenir or some salty snacks called Taralli, look for Nonna Lina, the friendliest Italian nonna on this street.
