This is the port where you'll hop off or on to get from Stykkisholumur on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. You may also bring your vehicle aboard the ferry.

In summer you may choose to spend some time at Flatey Island, either a few hours or overnight, but this will need to be arranged with the ferry company because they will be taking your vehicle to Stykkisholmur while you're in Flatey.

The ferry ride is about 2.5 hours long.

The ferry operates year round but with a much more limited schedule outside of summer. I do not recommend spending time in Flatey outside of summer as many things you'll need are closed.
