Dotonbori is one of the most energetic districts in Osaka, Japan, known for its neon lights, bustling nightlife, and mouthwatering local cuisine. Dotonbori is a great place to try some of Osaka’s specialties, such as okonomiyaki, takoyaki, kushikatsu, and crab
Stroll along the neon-lit streets at night, snap a pic under the iconic Glico Man sign, and indulge in Osaka's famous dishes like okonomiyaki and takoyaki.
Our favourite thing to eat is ofcourse the takoyaki, the lines can be long but it is worth the wait. After takoyaki we will usually also get a Portuguese tart from Lord Stowe (eventhough its not really from Japan). The other viral tiktok food item here is the 10yen cheese coin which is actually 500 yen (it wasnt really my thing though).
Having tried the crab at the famous restaurant with the big crab Kani Doraku I cant really say it is a must try, but if you have no qualms about getting value for money by all means try it at least once.
Though usually packed with both locals and tourists, Dotonbori is perfect for exploring, eating, drinking, and soaking up the energetic atmosphere, especially at night.
It's a must-visit spot for anyone looking to experience the excitement of Osaka after dark. Afterall have you even been to Osaka if you dont have a photo with the Glico man?
