It has waterfalls, hot springs, ancient gorges, massive national parks, red dirt roads, outback pubs, croc country, sacred sites, and some of the most iconic places in the country.

But it’s also easy to underestimate. The distances are huge, the seasons matter, and some spots need a 4WD, permit or Parks Pass.
