Description:
Reynisdrangar refers to the dramatic basalt sea stacks that rise out of the ocean just off Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach near Vík. According to Icelandic legend, the stacks were once trolls turned to stone by the sunlight. The jagged formations are striking against the waves of the North Atlantic and are one of the most photographed spots on the South Coast. Visitors can admire the view from Reynisfjara Beach or from the cliffs at Dyrhólaey. The area is extremely scenic but also dangerous — strong sneaker waves are common at Reynisfjara, so it is very important to stay far back from the shoreline.

Price:
Viewing Reynisdrangar is free, and parking at Reynisfjara Beach is also free. Guided South Coast tours that stop at Reynisdrangar typically cost $100–150 USD per person.
