Message from Elisa in Iceland

This is one of my absolute favorite places in the world. And it is hard to explain why, because there is literally nothing to do on this island except walk around at look at birds.

In summer time (May - half August), the whole island is full of puffins. If you've ever wanted to see a puffin, this is the place to go. But there's also: Black-legged Kittiwake, Northern Fulmar, Razorbill, Black Guillemot and Murre, both Common Murre or Common Guillemot and Thick-billed Murre or Brünnich's Guillemot.

If you are a bird lover, this is the place to be. If you are a nature lover, this is the place to be. If you like to feel alone in the world (in a good way), this is the place to be.

To enjoy the island to the fullest, I would recommend staying one (or more nights). Especially when the sun does not set, you can still go for walks in nature at night. It is beautiful.
