Beechworth Cascades, also known as Spring Creek Cascades, consists of a number of small waterfalls that spill into the gorge to form rock pools and swimming holes to cool off in on a hot day. It can get busy in Summer months because of this so its better to arrive early to get a good spot.

How to get there:

Located in Beechworth Historic Park, access the cascades along Gorge Road (sealed). The road is currently closed for bridge maintenance works so you'll need to either park your car at the closed gates at the Powder Magazine or Newtown Falls (5.2km return walk from here). There are no facilities here. It's a 3 hour drive from Melbourne and only a 10 minute drive from the centre of Beechworth.

Elise's Tips:

There’s loads of exploration to do here if you venture off Gorge Rd and down the slopes of the gorge but be mindful in wet weather as it can be extremely slippery, rock pools can be deep and currents can be a lot more dangerous for swimming.
