Talk about a waterfall wonderland! This hike definitely doesn't embrace the TLC mantra of don't go chasing waterfalls! The Valley of the Waters trail is a thrilling adventure through lush bushlands, taking you past seven stunning waterfalls, each more captivating than the last. Starting from the old Conservation Hut carpark, this 2.5-kilometer trail is relatively short but packed with scenic wonders.

From the carpark, you can create your own route since numerous tracks converge here. Although my route didn’t include the connection to Wentworth Falls (which was closed during my visit), the Valley of the Waters section alone is a delightful experience. As you set out, you’ll quickly reach Queen Victoria Lookout, followed by the Empress Lookout just a short distance away. These viewpoints offer breathtaking views of Jamison Valley, perfect for soaking in the natural beauty and snapping some photos.

The trail becomes even more exciting as you descend a ladder and walk beneath sandstone cliffs, adding a touch of adventure to the hike. You'll then encounter Isobel Falls and then Empress Falls, my favorite with its powerful flow and refreshing spray. Watch your step here, it can get a bit slippery as the trail goes right next to the falls. I stopped at these falls and has a super refreshing swim, it was divine.

Continuing on, you’ll pass Sylvia Falls, Edith Falls, and Flat Rock Falls, before reaching the final two: Britannia Falls and Red Rock Falls. While the last few waterfalls are less dramatic, they still add to the overall charm of the hike. The proximity of these falls to each other makes the trail feel like a waterfall wonderland, with plenty of photo-worthy spots along the way. After reaching Red Rock Falls, you can either link to other paths or turn around and head back up. This trail is a must-do for anyone in the national park looking for a bit of excitement and a lot of natural beauty.
